So I found and obtained an old vintage engine analyzer. Its a Sun model SUN-101. Yes I have found pictures and all of this model however, my model is different than any one I have seen. I would like to get more information as to why I can't find anything thats like mine and maybe value info. I have no use for this piece of art and would like to maybe sell to the right person. I plugged it in and it comes on and all and I have many hook up to it as well as books. Please help me if you can. Thank you. I will send or post pics asap.

Looks like Sun Sleuth One.
Sometimes when they private label them, they use a different model number.

All I can say is that I haven't found one that says the sparks tune-up part at the top. Any idea who may want this and the value?

I’m not sure, but it’s my guess that the “Sparks Tune-Up” part was probably the name of an auto repair franchise that this piece of equipment came from. I’ve worked in shops with similar Sun scopes that featured our shop chain name in that same place. Just a guess though.

Manufacturers would create signs and model numbers for repair shop chains and car manufacturers. The problem is most people don't know how to use a scope without some training. The days of shops using these to diagnose ignition systems is long gone. People with old muscle cars might be interested.

I would say that it is only worth something to a person who collects old test equipment for nostalgia reasons. The old SUN equipment was really good stuff back in the day, but those days are long gone.

It is pretty much the same for other trades as well. When the appliance/electronics store I worked for finally decided to drop the electronics and just sell appliances, they tried to sell the test equipment but nobody was interested in buying outdated test equipment. The equipment was top of the line when it was new, but now with the flat screen TV sets, there is no need for all that test equipment. They ended up giving it all to a technical college so the professor could show the students the way things were done a long time ago.

I kind of figured there would only be a select group that may be interested in this type of thing. I think I will just see if there is some school or college I could donate it to. I think that sounds like an excellent idea. I think its a nice piece of history and hope that it can be used for at least something good of some sort. Thanks for all your help and input folks. I highly appreciate it!
