Sun Engine Tester Paint

Hello

Was wondering if anybody can tell me where or what kind of paint to use on the old 60's engine testers. I know it is a blue hammer tone paint, but can a person get it from a paint shop, or is it blue paint with an additive to make it the hammer tone? I am restoring a distributor tester, sun 820 and 1160. Still looking for a manual for the 1160 which is the same as the 1120 I believe. Any help would be appreciated.

I'll see if the machine at the shop is chipped anywhere tomorrow. If it is, I should be able to take it to a paint store and get the color code for you.

I've been looking for a source for the blue hammer-tone paint. According to Roger Kunz, folks have been pleased with Sherwin-Williams Dimenso Dark Blue Enamel. The product code is 522-2302 and the Dimenso paint is described in product info sheet CC-B5. The paint seems to be available in only the gallon size and has a shelf life (unopened) of two years. So be sure to have the the sales person check the date code on the lid before you buy it.
I've bought a gallon, but haven't tried it yet.

The Sun1160 is different than the Sun1120, one of the differences is the cylinder kill buttons. I have a digital copy of the Sun920/1120 manual that I'll send you. I'm still looking for the Sun1160 manual; which I know that I have, it is yours as soon as I find it.

Somebody sent me this info when i was getting ready to paint mine:

Rustoleum

7219830 - Verde Green for the older ones
7212830 - Light Blue for the newer ones


I think I used Royal blue and white on mine because I was trying to get close to the blue on the sticker. Applied with a foam roller. Here's a pic, although the color in the pic isn't quite right. Using a cell phone camera under florescent lights doesn't give the best results.

What about the red paint used on distributor testers such as the 404/504?
