Sun VAT 20 electrical diagnostics

Was up over the top of the shop and saw this vintage Sun VAT 20 tester on a rolling stand. Thought you guys might like to see it, so I snapped a couple pics. I know it's old, anybody have any idea how old?

I wanna say 50's ?. I;ve never used a VAT-20, but I have and use VAT-40's.

Nice! I too, have never used a VAT-20. I agree it is likely from the '50s.

The closest ones I have here are two VAT-28s, a BST-11 and a VAT-40. However, I'm embarrassed to admit that I have so much stuff here and in storage units, I lost track of one of my VAT-28s!

Very nice find! Would love to have one for the collection.

Clean it up and put it to use!

Thank you for that link 1oldtimer! Looks like it predates alternators. I had a generator on my forklift, but I converted it to an alternator. Oh well, cool eye candy anyway.
