Hello. I worked in a building yesterday in which some new LED high bay 8' lights had been hung. (Sorry, no specific model data yet)

My face is sunburned and quite a bit.

Is it possible the lights are emitting UV?

Ever heard of or seen anything like that first hand?

Were you very close to the lights as in up on a scaffold or ladder? How much time did you spend in that building? Are you on a medication that makes your skin hypersensitive to light?

Har...I had the opposite issue....kind of. I bought one of those "Windshield Repair kits" to fix a ding on my pickup's windshield and then couldn't get the resin to set in my garage. The resin sets when it get hit with UV. I might as well have been trying to do it in a cave as it didn't set up at all under my LED lighting in the garage.

Had to wheel it out into the driveway for a few minutes. That did it.

As others have stated above....they do make LED grow lights. I bought my wife a hydroponic herb garden for Christmas and it has an LED grow lamp.

Ha ha. No, not grow lights or plants.

I befuddled as to how it happened. Are uv grow lights coated with something that converts the light to uv?

Just a guess: take a benadryl. Sunburn is unaffected by antihistamines.

Have you been outside recently in the strong winds in sub-zero weather? It might be wind burn and not sunburn.
