Depending on what impact you are using and what jobs you want to do, you may have to add a couple on the big end. Like 21mm for lug nuts.

Chance are you won't be done by buying that set. I bought that set minus the swivels, and Torx and have added, 21MM deep 13/16-1" deep and shallows. I'll probably add a 22mm as well.

That's a valid point. My FIL gave me a small SK 1/4" SAE set. Really nice, but my first thought was, without the metric will it get much use?I guess the question is whether you need all the SAE stuff. I got one of their metric-only sets and have been very happy with it.
Having both takes up a ton of space. If your motorcycle is metric, I'd skip the sets that include SAE and just by cheap singles at AutoZone or whatever as-necessary.That's a valid point. Agree. I have a ton a real estate taken up by SAE impacts, and they rarely see any use. If you don't own anything SAE, skip it for now.
That M12 stubby is a winner! Great power for price performance. There hasn't been anything reasonable that I've thrown at it that it couldn't handle.

I use SAE quite a bit, but I know people that don't use it much at all. You will often run into SAE when doing DIY home related stuff or if you work on anything older, so if you go with a metric only master socket set it would be wise to also buy a cheap but decent quality regular length SAE socket set just in case. It will prevent you from grinding to a halt if you encounter a SAE fastener that doesn't have a close metric equivalent. Something simple like a 3/8"- 7/8" set would be fine for most people. Don't bother with SAE deep sockets, swivel sockets, etc. unless you have a need for them.
I recommend the same thing for wrenches. If you work mainly on metric stuff, you probably want to buy metric wrench sets in offset, regular, stubby, etc. Buy one set of cheap but good combo wrenches in SAE and only buy more if you see a need.

Grey Pnuematic has a $300ish 3/8 set that is SAE to 1” and Metric to 22mm, standard, shallow, and universal.

Definitely no such thing as complete.
With an M12 stubby may consider adding some items like stubby sockets (which kind of makes the regular sockets redundant), torx, and allen. Magnetic sockets are also nice to have (especially in 8 and 10mm). Wobble extensions. The only thing on my list still are mid depth/semi deeps.
Would personally never give up on SAE entirely with an old house and some vintage equipment lying around. My theory from reading garage journal is only if you are mechanic working on new stuff can you get by entirely on metric.

Is anyone offering 3/8" flip sockets besides SO?Impact flip-flop sockets are good to have around as well. Both Sunex and Tekton, etc, offer pretty nice 4 pc F-F socket sets.

I got a 'master' metric set from Sunex and the socket quality is great but I hate, hate, hate, hate the legends on them. The laser etching wore off in a week and the stamps are tiny and easily get covered up with grease or embedded dirt.
I've got that set and really like it!! I got it for a steal at $100 new. Very nice set though.
However I mostly end up using my Astro Pneumatic stubby metric impacts or Grey Pneumatic mid length impacts. Also with an M12 stubby impact.

A 6" 3/8 to 1/2 adapter would work.
