I purchased Sunex Crowfoot Wrenches today and noticed there are no indents to come into contact with the ball on the ratchet. Is something wrong? Or would I need to pay an additional premium to get such a feature on a decent set of crowfoot wrenches?

if its not a defect then you can make the indent with a little ball end on a dremmel tool

I haven't seen Sunex regular crowfoot wrenches except the jumbo version. I have seen crowfoot flare wrenches by Sunex though.

I just looked at my set and no detends in them. I never had a problem with them since they fit the drive tool just fine.

I have the same set no detent. Do one wrap of Teflon tape on the extension when you use it and it will not fall off

Re: Sunex Crowfoot Flare Wrenches

Thanks, I should have been more specific,
I purchased the 3/8 Crowfoot flare wrenches, not the straight ones
Shouldn't make much of a difference besides the drive size, right?

Do you all use the 3/8 drive Crowfoot wrenches more frequently than the 1/2 or vice versa? Any preference between flare and straight crowfoot?

I just ordered the same set of crowfoot wrenches last week. Still waiting for them to arrive. I knew they were missing the detent before I ordered, but disappointed. I like rsanter idea about using a dremmel.

SK has the detent but they are 3-4 times the cost. Just not something I am going to use that frequent.

I'm sure I'll be using them just occasionally, perhaps 3/8 would be the right way to start? The 3/8 is only available in flare whereas 1/2 in straight crowfoot. All from sunex

Just checked..... my USA made Masterforce (Menards) set HAS the detents. I bought 2 sets of these (SAE and metric) shortly before Menards took on the Crescent line of tools. They still sell their Masterforce store brand but it appears they have downsized and no longer sell the crowfoot wrenches. Not bad for $39 bucks per set.

Awesome, was this 1/2" or 3/8"? I only got them in 3/8" for the time being as I haven't had to work with larger bolts just yet
