I was just looking at these same pliers the other day as well. I guess i'll be finding out at the same time as you. If i remember correctly there were three pair i found, the sunex, the gearwrench and i forget the others. The gearwrench were ridiculously priced.

I thought that way also when looking for some jumbo metric wrenches. Sunex fit the bill and I went with them. Couldn't be happier. One set as polished v jaws and the other silver raised panel sizes 20mm-30mm. Both have worked well the few times I've used them. I wouldn't be scared of their pliers or any of their tools for that matter.

I'm looking for a reasonably priced set of hose pliers and this Sunex set seemed to fit the bill. However, I'm a bit wary of the negative comments, since Sunex is well reputed for its sockets sets.

Anyone has this set and what's your comment?

Thanks in advance.

kblee27,

I purchased the above Sunex hose plier set from Amazon a number of years ago. When the set arrived, the handle coating was even, the tip ends mated evenly, and the canvas plier roll-up pouch was sewn well. The only negative about these pliers is that surface rust developed relatively fast.

Over the years, I have used these pliers for a number of automotive 30,000 tuneups and repairs. They have performed flawlessly. Also, the handle coating has stayed intact and the tip ends are still even.
