Recently I was pawn shopping in my favorite state of Tennessee, and I found this tiny little 1/4" Sunex ratchet. It was in the dollar bin, but the seller told me he'd take 50 cents. Well, for that price, it was coming home with me, even if it had a rough action.

It's so small I had to get magnifying glasses to take it apart. I should have taken photos as I took it apart, but I didn't think about it until I'd already opened it up.

Here it is opened up. The drive has the push button socket retention feature.

There's another pin and spring that are so small, I didn't take them out. I was afraid I'd not get them back in.

The tiny spring and pin fit under the selector.

Then there's another spring and pin that fit into the selector. A half moon shim holds the selector in place.

Then the pawl sits on top.

The drive goes in place next.

Then the face plate and retaining ring finish it off.

Now that it's cleaned up and lubed, it works great! It's well made, and more complicated than I expected. Well worth the 50 cents!

Cool find I went pawn shopping yesterday and didn't find any ratchets but bought a whole big show box full of SK, Craftsman USA, and a couple snap on, and Marco and others as well as a bunch of other tools for $25 pretty happy but didn't need any more sockets really but can't pass up a good deal the box was so heavy I could hardly carry it in one arm got every size adapter/reducer made in that haul is best part for me as I needed a couple.

50 cents is my kind of price!:lol_hitti

That curved pawl looks alot like the broken one in a ProAmerican ratchet I have. Might have to call Sunex and try and get one - see if it will fit.
