My recent experience with 2 made-in-China Sunex magnetic sockets is not good. I ordered them from Amazon and was hoping to receive the made-in-Taiwan versions, but received the made-in-China versions. The 1/4" socket (1/4" drive) has a magnet so deeply recessed it was useless at holding a sheet metal screw. And the magnet popped out of the socket on the first use with a hex bit. I returned it to Amazon. The 7/16" socket (3/8" drive) has a magnet that is substantially weaker than the identical diameter magnet in my made-in-Taiwan Sunex 11mm socket.

People assuming the CN made stuff would be the same quality and functionality must be very trusting people on the day to day.

There's a reason even HF has moved stuff to TW for their ICON stuff. If the biggest cheapskate tool store in the game is willing to pay more, and most professionals are willing to pay more for TW - then there's probably a good reason.
