Somebody give me the rundown on Sunex. Have not heard of them before.

(Where is the "ignorant" icon?...is this it?)

I have not handled any of their recent offerings, but from what I have seen, all you need to know is:

Sunex impact sockets-OK, everything else-skip.

From what I have seen I would have to agree.

I bought a set of their pliers, and really like them *shrug*. It was supposed to be a 90*, 45*, 20* and straight, I think they're 12" needlenose. I ended up with two straights, no 20*. I called the ebay seller, they talked to sunex, in 2 days I had the 20*, and they told me to keep the extra straight.

Not too bad for $20.

I would tend to agree that their impact sockets are good but, I would also say that some of their service carts pretty good too and are rebadged by most tool trucks and offer pretty good value.

I am not surprised that some of their other stuff is decent now. It has been a while since I looked closely at any Sunex tools other than the couple of impact sockets I have in my tool box.

I have a set of Sunex 3/4"drive impact sockets that have stood up to all the abuse I can dish out. My only complaint is that the lettering for the socket size is worn off some of them. I touch them up with an engraver occasionally.

Sunex generally = Pittsburgh or Pittsburgh Pro from HF in terms of quality. The advantage with Sunex is that they have a lot more selection than HF.

I have some of the impacts and they are exactly the same as the HF pro's. They have held up well. Lettering wears off, but that's not too much of a worry.

I have a set of 1/2 inch impacts and 3/8 from Sunex that I bought 14-15 years ago used every day and still in good shape. Some of their stuff isn't horrible they are probably the best of the cheaper chinese manufacturers

Same here... I have a set of impact sockets I bough back in the late 1980's and while aI have lost a few, I have NEVER broken one. I have been very pleased with them.

I have a 4 piece long needle nose set that runs circles around the similarly priced astro pneumatic set. They arn't snap on, but I couldn't justify the purchase. THese pliers are pretty freakin nice for 30$ or so.

And wait, sunnex impacts = pittsburgh pro?!
