I am trying to figure out on the 3580 set:

With the sockets pictured on top of the case, there is what appears to be another extension in the far left of the picture. In the case you don't see it.

Any ideas?

CPO outlets has 15% off right now, code:stars15. Drops the price of the 3580 below the $199 for free shipping so I added the Milwaukee fastback smooth knife and the total was $208 with free shipping and then $227 after tax. CPO has the Sunex rebate form on their site.

Can you use the 15% off and still use the rebate from sunex or do they count that as another rebate/offer/promotion that they exclude in their form?

Thanks kball, I went ahead and did the same thing except a different pick to get it over the 2 bill mark. I hope they honor the rebate and if not.....**** I finally got off my *** and got a complete set of 3/8" impacts. :)

Who knows?
Alright gents, I just got off the phone with Crystal at Sunex Tools. She was able to provide answers for many of the questions we've come up with in the last few days.

She verified that sets 3580/ 2568/2569 are included in the $100 rebate and are NOT typos.

She verified that the rebate comes back in the form of a gift card, but this year it'll be through Mastercard.

She verified that it's okay to buy from an eBay seller like Artic tools or CPO outlets. In her words it didn't matter where it was bought from so long as we had our UPC and original receipt. I would imagine the shipping paperwork showing a card number and charge amount would work. Let me know if I need to call back about that.

She verified that the rebate applies to the purchase cost, even the lowest puchase price, and NOT MSRP.

She also verified that ANY website specific discount like the CPO 15% coupon code is allowed. She stated that the line in the rebate form that talks about not being combined with any other offer, discount, promotion; ONLY applies to offers, discounts, promotions offered by Sunex. In other words, no double dipping on discounts from Sunex. You can't take two Sunex offers and combine them. BUT the 15%CPO deal is perfectly acceptable.

Looks like this is going to turn out to be a fantastic deal. Especially for those of us buying the 3580/ 2568/2569 sets.

Oh yeah, I forgot. She is confident in the answers she gave me, but she is going to go over the recorded phone call with her product manager and will call me if anything she told me turns out to be incorrect. She sounded like she knew her stuff though so I doubt I'll get a call.

No worries man. I figured you might have gotten busy the last few days.

I actually spaced it a bit. I did think of one more question though. I wonder if we can order two of the same sets? They said that you can get up to five cards.

Back to the phone.

I talked to Crystal as well, she was not 100% sure and the guy that knows is at lunch. She will call me back. I am all ready to place an order, but I will change things up a bit if we can get duplicates.

Big thanks to Jarhead and Strouty for taking the time to call and ask the questions for the rest of us. I was skeptical at first but seems like I am going to order a few sets now.

Edited: found better pricing elsewhere, look to next page.

So originally I was going to wait to order the 2568 and 2569 sets but with the 15% off from CPO I figured I might as well order one of the sets and see how I like them, get to checkout, see the $7 shipping charge and figured what the hell might as well get both with the 15% off and save the $14 in shipping (free shipping over $199).

Total for both sets ended up being $354.98 - $53.25 (15%) = 301.53. Factor in the two $100 rebates and I was able to buy both sets for $101.53, not bad in my book.

You guys are a hazard to my wallet :badteeth:

Just a heads up if the above is indeed true where you can combine offers, the two impact sets under the $25 rebate are sold at advanced auto parts and they are just over the $125 minimum for a 50off125 coupon.
Each one ends up being between $50 and $60 that way.

You do realize that those sets are normally $69.99 everywhere else? That is a terrible price. Go with the CPO purchase and get 15% off, then get the $25 gift card.

Just after I typed that and walked away from the computer I realized I didnt check the price at cpo. Didnt think there would be that big of a price gap from one place to another so I left it.

Went back and edited my last post so noone gets confused with pricing at cpo vs aap.

OK I am totally in here if I can buy 3 of the socket sets (all different) on the list and get the gift card on all 3. Does anyone know for sure if you can get multiple gift cards on different items? or is it all the same item?

EDIT: Also, did anyone ask the Sunex rep how we submit an ORIGINAL receipt from an online purchase? I don't want to have to order an 'original receipt printer' for my home PC too. :lol_hitti

Multiple items are fine, up to 5 gift cards. I am still waiting to find out if you can buy more than one of the same and have it count.

Receipt should just be easy enough to get, but when they call back I will ask. Pretty sure the UPC from the box is the big deal, no copies of that for sure!

Welp, I got all 4 master sets ordered. Hopefully that 'original receipt' thing doesn't come back to haunt me. Also, the 3/8" dr. SAE set is not on the list so no gift card there.

All said and done, I am getting 140 impact sockets for $195... Not bad in my book if it works out.

There are only 3 master sets, unless you got duplicates.

Crystal did not call me back, I should have called her, I guess I lost track of time. So at this point it is still unknown if you can get duplicates and get a rebate for each item. Also the question about the receipts is still up in the air. I will try and call tomorrow, but no promises this time.

Hopefully multiple items count, as it will be nice to knock out some Christmas shopping in July... (if gift giver is an end user...)

I know this is a smoking deal but I hope I'm not gonna get buyers remorse. I really had my heart set on the Grey Pneumatic 1281 kit. Which includes swivels up to 1" and 22mm. Does anyone know if Sunnex makes a add on set?. Just wondering and searching on my phone ain't happening. Thanks!

I had my heart set on GP sockets as well but the rebates were too good to pass on. In addition I didn't like that the GP sockets weren't engaved as well as you cant send them back to GP directly for warranty like you can with Sunex.

The Sunex 3580 set would end up being $102 after rebate from cpo. It comes with universals up to 3/4" and 19mm (not 22mm in universals) plus all the star/ torx sockets. It has the same number of metric universals but 5 less in Sae.
The biggest difference is the regular impact sockets go up to 22mm and 1 inch in the GP set but only 19mm and 3/4" in the sunex.
Although I feel anything larger than that should be 1/2" drive anyway.

You could buy the Sunex 3580 in 3/8", Sunex 2568 1/2" Sae, and Sunex 2569 1/2" metric and still have over $100 left over to buy an additional set of larger Sunex or GP universal sockets that fits your needs best (deep, shallow, semi deep, etc..) or buy individuals that you need. This would cover you up to 1 1/2 inch and 30 mm.

To get an additional GP semi deep 1212usd 5/16 - 1" would be $119.

Your total for all of that should end up around $325 which is less than CPO has the GP set listed for.

The cpo site isn't letting me factor in the 15% off for the GP sockets, Is that just me?

Ya copy that J. Turns out the GP kit goes up to a 1" uni, but only 19 with the metric. I know it sounds petty, but its like having the Hansen socket trays and missing a socket, it'll drive me nuts :). I also hunted down some individual ones to bulk up the set, but holy hell there goes the savings.

SO!, I've decided to keep and enjoy this smoking deal set without remorse. Then purchase the semi deep sets of GP to make m feel better at a later date..hahahaa

As for 1/2 stuff, I'm good there but I've always lacked a set of 3/8", only had misc individuals for decades.

Also thanks for all the input, it was dead on!.

I know what you mean with the Hansen trays I just got mine today and have some shopping to do :eyecrazy:

Looking through all those universals makes me feel like I need to get my hands on some, are they really that much better than a universal extention?

Does anyone have a real picture of the 3580 set?

Well I like the swivels in the 3/8 set but I own an air and SO 1/2 impact. No 3/8 so I bought the 2 1/2 master sets. Then I remembered I already own these. Win win. I picked up 2 of those $11 Sunex 1/4 flex head sets while I was there as well.
