Oh sure I will find tools at garage sales from all over the World, but even I am amazed at just how far the tools have traveled just to make it here in the first place.

I picked up this tool today at a garage sale and I liked how well it was made, I had never heard of a Super-Ego hand tool so I thought why not do a web-search.

I cannot tell you much about the company History, things like when they first got their start, the name of the company Ceo.,etc. but I tell you that they are big in the plumbing trades.

The headquarters is:

Ive seen random tools here and there over the years. I have a pair of their water pump pliers similar to alligators.

In western Canada, a rather common pipe wrench. Ridgid pattern. As they much cheaper, likely as many of them floating around as Ridgids. They are not as good as Ridgid, the spring failed on mine after 20 years use. I got another spring, it's good for another 20 years.

My dad has a couple of the Super-ego pipe wrenches. Other than that I'd never seen them anywhere else.

I have the same middle pair of pliers.
I believe they are some how affiliated with Rothenberger now.
I also researched this awhile back ,because I had never heard of the brand.
My pliers are no where near the quality of Knipex or NWS,which I what I thought they were when I picked them up.
They seem "soft"

I sold Super-Ego Spain aluminum pipe wrenches in the late 1970s to early 1980s, so they've been around for awhile.

Their most recent online catalog (2021) touts their having been in business for 75 years.

Curiously, the Rothenberger's website shows their address as being the same as that of Irega, although Rothenberger's main website will tell you they're in Germany (founded in 1949.)
Irega is clearly, however, part of The Rothenberger Group

I'll figure it out when I get to Germany. I'm not working alphabetically here.

They are specialists in pipe tools (plumbing). Here in Spain they were the best, along with Irimo, Palmera, Acesa, Irega, about this years ago, today I don't know much more about them.

I skimmed through Super Ego's catalog a bit ago - if it has anything to do with pipe or plumbing, they've got it covered.

Acesa and Irimo merged. I don't have a date on that. I just started on "Spain" a couple hours ago - I'm kind of all over the map right now - this is a work in progress.

I remember sears tool catalogs would have a section of plumbing tools from Super Ego back in the 90’s. Some pipe wrenches, a threader, and some odds and ends.

Super-Ego is part of Rothenberger Group, or whatever it’s called.
A large number of the Rothenberger hand tools are made in Spain, likely by Super Ego, and the tools are basically identical except for the name.
This includes pipe wrenches, pipe and tubing cutters(not all of them, some tubing cutters seem to be made in the USA), some hand tools, and I forget what else.
Other Rothenberger tools are made in Germany.
Some are made in the USA, and torches are likely made in Sweden, unless the torches are rebranded Bernzomatic from the USA.
Some Rothenberger tools may be made in France, because I think Virax is now part of the Rothenberger Group.

Irimo, Palmera, Acesa, etc. are part of Snap-On Europe, along with Bahco, as far as I’m aware, and are not associated with Rothenberger or Super-Ego.

Irega is not the same as Irimo, although both make adjustable wrenches.
I have a couple Bahco adjustable wrenches, and if these were made by Irimo, I would avoid them, since the machining is sort of ****, and far from the reputation for quality that the former Swedish made Bahco wrenches had.
Every Irega made wrench I’ve seen has had flawless machining.

Estate sale .25 grab, finally cleaned them up and Voila… Super Ego… Spain. Nice slip joints….Fairly tight too..
