When you need to clamp a planet to adjust the bearings on it's axis, that's the vise you use.

Hopefully you won't have to supervise a super vise - I mean, if it's so super, it ought to be able to di it's job on it's own, without anyone having to stand over it and watch it all the time.

Looks like the wheels were added on. Maybe just to move it? Seems as if it has holes in the bottom to bolt into the floor.

If I had to gander a geuss I would say something to do with large ships that go on the ocean or maybe the great lakes.

Could also be for earth moving equipment where you need alot of power to align two extrordinary heavy peices together while you try not to take off fingers.

Thatd be cool to sand blast paint and put in my living room
