SuperCote -- without etching

Has anyone used SuperCote without etching first? What were your results? This floor is virgin concrete that is quite rough. I'm not sure my time restraints are going to allow this step.

Hi Casebrius,

Yes, you absolutely should etch prior to applying any concrete surface coating. Your results will be far-better if you do.

If you skip this etching process, you will certainly be disappointed in the near future, when your finish begins to chip and wear. Finishes require a clean, poruous surface to allow for maximum adhesion.

Don't skip this step!
