Have any of you guys ever heard of this company or own any of their tools?
I bought this 3/8 indexable ratchet from an independant tool guy circa 1993. I hardly ever used it, when I did the teeth stripped a few years later, tool guy never to be seen agayn. She sat in my box for the better part of twenty years until the other week the Mac guy started peddling a ratchet that looked vaguely familiar..... Externally his ratchet and mine looked exactly the same in the head department and he agreed to get a repair kit in for me just to see if it fit.
I will be dipped in poop if it didn't fit!!!!!!
I wonder what the connection is? It seems odd that the parts would match perfectly.
Do any of you guys have any insight on this?
At any rate, now the thing works again.

I forgot to add, the knob on this thing looks identical to that on a buddy's SK flex head 3/8 at work. Curiouser and curiouser.

Many ratchets have the same internals and often the same company makes those for different companies. The insestious relationships of tool companies is sometimes amazing..

I kinda thought that might be the case. If that is true here, I wonder who the parent company was?

I have a Cat brand ratchet made by snap on that the directional change looks the same. Also my Williams Super Ratchet S52 looks the same on the head. My guess if from the snappy family tool tree. Not sure though. Very cool little ratchet.

Yeah.. But the Armstrong and napas don't swing a full 360° , which I liked about these strc-bluepoint, and later, snapon versions.
Now that I know the SK kit fits these, I'm gonna try and find a stripped out one thats for sale, cheap

Hey guys... I just tried to buy a tuff1 SK repair kit for my 1/4" drive srtc ratchet, and it doesn't fit. Looks like the 3/8" drive version uses the same guts but 1/4" is different.
does anyone out there in GJ land know what will fit in my 1/4" srtc?

My Mac guy looked at it today and had no clue. Emailed snapon and called superior and it looks like I'm more ***-out than Oprah Winfrey in a thong

Does anyone have a husky or stanley version of this ratchet? looking at pics... The repair kit MIGHT be the same, but who knows...

I doubt stanley or husky will even bother with repair kits.. they probably just sell (or sold) the whole tool and thats it...

Just got off the Mac truck, part # XIRRK is what I bought back in 2012. Mac guy says it's still available, $17.31. Bimmer, I can't guarantee fit, I think the Snap-on model might be a smidge smaller. Also, mine has four tabs on the knob.
Rotsa ruck.

Yours is 3/8", though. That kit he got you is probably the same as Armstrong/Mac indexables, And SK tuff1 ratchets. Unfortunately the 1/4" version doesn't match up with mine. Thanks for checking that thoughts

I have a pair of Superiod water pump pliers. Jaws are smooth which I thought all water pump pliers had. Also 2 or 3 Superior pipe wrenches. All made in USA and all work well.

The ones at Lowes are now made in China.

I have the Stanley version. 87-998 US Pat. 6247386BI. Couldn't tell you much more than that as I dont use it anymore and Ive only had it apart once to clean and lube it because it stopped working and it looked like every other round head ratchet I've had apart.

Actually emailed Stanley asking for a repair kit because it looked so similar. They told Me that ratchet is no longer made and they will send me the closest replacement free of charge. Now I'm not a dishonest guy, but this feels almost like stealing... Haha. I worded the email "where can I purchase a repair kit" and they didn't even ask for proof that I bought any ratchet from them. Kh well

So, I ended up finding another whole 1/4" ratchet for 60 bucks, but this one is labeled "blue point" not srtc.. They changed to that at some point. I stole the kit out of the blue point to fix my srtc, and warrantied the blue point to my truck guy for a new snapon dual 80 standard length handle ratchet.

so for 60.00 I ended up with a fixed indexing srtc ratchet, and a brand new 1/4" snap on ratchet too...
