Superstrut overhead shelf support

I am installing a 32' x 3' overhead shelf 3' down from the ceiling across the back of new pole barn. I was going to use 2x6's and frame a ledger board ancho red to posts. Use metal hangers on both front and rear framing runs to hang 3' 2x6's between. Obviously the rear wall will support the rear of shelf. For the front I was going to use 12 gauge superstrut bolted directly to the side of the 2x8 bottom cord of the roof truss and bolted to the front framing of shelf. Over the 32' span the trusses are every 4' so I was planning to support every 4'. If this seems appropriate the question I'm trying to get to is if I can drill the side wall of superstrut to bolt to bottom cord of truss. I am trying to keep the prepunched holes facing the front of barn to mount retractable lighting, retractable air line, etc.

If I understand you correctly you want to support the strut on a side load. They are not designed to support in that fashion, but the strut nuts in conjunction with the 1/4" fittings will aid in keeping the strut from spreading.
They do make fittings that can be anchored to the frame work and support the strut in any position like the P1732 http://www.unistrut.us/index.php?WP=show&GRP=U-Shape Fitting

The strut is pretty weak in that dimension. Why not run 2x4 blocking perpendicular to the trusses connecting/ bridging 2 lower cords? That would allow you to use the existing holes in the strut to attach the upper mount, lower mount and your lighting/reels.

I did think of that possibility also cya, in your opinion do you feel that would be better or I went to Lowe's last night and they do have .250" thick steel 90's. I was thinking of bolting 3 90's to the top of each Superstrut drop using existing strut holes and bolting directly to the 2x8 bottom cord.

Edit: another idea I had was to bolt 8" long pieces of 4x4 vertically to the site of bottom cord, then bolt the Superstrut to the 4x4
