Last year I purchased a Sure Shot sprayer to use for Brakleen that I buy in 1 gallon jugs. I was disappointed that it had such a weak spray despite being charged to 175 psi (it's rated for 200), I was hoping that it would spray like a new can of Brakleen. It came with a 'fan' spray nozzle (read very gentle rain) or a 'stream' nozzle (read senior man with prostate problems) and their website doesn't appear to offer a powerful blast nozzle. I can use it as is for brakes but would prefer that it could blast dirt and oil away for more general de-greasing chores. Has anyone had any experience with different nozzles or modifying existing factory nozzles for better results. It my be engineered to restrict pressure and flow but i figured maybe someone had found a way around the weak performance. Maybe one of their other models would be more appropriate for general cleaning.

I've got three of them and one of the three sprays very badly. I like the idea but doesn't seem like the sprayer is made well.

remove your nozzle from the tank. remove the brass piece in the picture attached.
reattach the nozzle. see if it sprays better now.
You can also enlarge the hole in the nozzle slightly. Please note, you'll go through brake clean much faster and will need to charge it with compressed air more often.
Older sureshot unit came with two nozzles one was more of a stream while the other one was more mist like.

Are you certain the nozzle isn't partially plugged up? I screwed up and filled mine from my parts washer. The fluid was full of debris and it continually plugged the nozzle, it would still spray, but poorly. I would have to release the air, and pull the nozzle and clean it out and then it would be fine for a while, then plug up again. A good wash out with Dawn and hot water got the sprayer cleaned out and had been fine since.

I don't have one, and I don't know which model you have. I looked at some reviews on Amazon and I am not impressed. There is a number of comments that relate to build quality. There were some that they got an 80% 5 star reviews.

Sounds like a increase in performance compared to OP. I've had decent enough luck. I have a mix bag of vapor and sure shot cans

With mine, other than a sharp stream, back pressure pushes the solvent back through te nozzle threads.
