Hello all,

I was just given (as in free!) a surface grinder. I have done many searches for the manufacturer or any information on this machine, with no luck.

The manufacturer is Ward. I don't have a model number or picture yet, I pick it up tomorrow.

Does anyone know about this unit or the manufacturer? I would love to get ahold of a manual for it.

Thanks in advance,

I cannot say I ever heard of a surface grinder with a nameplate of Ward on it. I do know that Montgomery Ward sold lathes and drill presses with their name on them years ago. But I cannot say that they made any surface grinders. I wonder if it is a re-badged import... Pictures would be a great help to identify your machine.

Thank you gentlemen! I will pick it up in the morning and will search on the model number and I should have some pics as well.

Uncle Buck, I love the name of your shop! I was going to adopt that name as well, but you beat me to it! Any connection?

Thanks again,

Thank you, there is at least one other guy on the board that has adopted that name for his space as well. I am sure there is plenty of room for all that like the name and I am glad to share, particularly since all of us have borrowed the name from the original guys anyway!

I picked up the surface grinder today and spent about an hour doing some light cleanup. Even searching on the full company name and model number I still can't find much information on it.

I am impressed with the quality and condition of this grinder.

Any ideas?

Man, how the heck do you have a machine that looks as nice as that one given to you! Lucky sucker, I think that machine was made in England (Nothing to base this on but a gut feeling)
