Do they make a set of dies I can use with a shop press to remove/install suspension bushings (control-arm bushings etc)?

Sure, why not, piece of pie for the receiver, rod for the pusher, maybe even a plate on the bottom of the pipe to bridge the press ways.

3/4 inch sockets are a good idea but not sure if they're sized appropriately to push the bushings out square?

I'll take a look at OTC, but from past experience their stuff is usually pricey.

I used a 3/4" socket to press out the bushings in the control arms of my G35 not too long ago, worked and fit perfect. It's almost like they sized them intentionally knowing people were going to use sockets.

Do you guys use the open end of the socket against the bushing (when pressing the bushing out) or the closed end for more surface area contact?

the open end against the bushing, that way it clears the steel centre part of the bushing.

OTC makes great stuff! I have the dodge chrysler jeep press and it's worth every penny. I have the press bushings and it works perfect.
