Not technically garage related, but Heating and A/C related:
A buddy just gave me a window mount swamp cooler that sits outside with the window part inside. Well, the window I wanted to mount it on is too small (slides side to side) for the inside part to fit through. This got me thinking... which is always dangerous. For the summer, what if I popped out both sliding window sections and replaced it with plexiglass with a cut-out for the swamp cooler vent and controls?
Is there a downside to this?
Also, I plan to build a 2x4 stand on the outside for the main unit to sit on, should I still screw it with chains to the side of the structure?
Any advice helps! It's hotter than hell in my house (86 INSIDE) as I type this and I need some relief!
