nice finds, you **** for that Torq Meter

When I opened the case and saw the sticker I must have looked a bit anxious trying to get the cash out of my pocket! I saw a Clicker later on that was about $200, if I had the extra cash I would have gotten it too, but I have a Bonney Clicker...

Those are pretty good finds.

I have gotten luck on Ebay a few times.

I scored a CDI 3/8 electronic torque wrench for $115 then a week later got a 1/2 drive Snap-on clicker 50-250 ft lbs for $100. I was ecstatic

I thought I did fairly well, I don't currently have any "Projects" going on so I have been bulking up on tools. Spending several hundred on Wright from Epsteins (I have been going to that store since I was Knee High... Mom and Dad bought me my first REAL socket set from there....) Gotta get some more stuff soon...

Will you actually use those old impact wrenches?

Yes, the older air guns are heavy, require dragging around an air line, but they'll still be working long after the FuelFireStormMax batteries have been replaced a couple of times, thus, they're pretty much a one-and-done-forever investment.

I just picked up a similar IR gun for $20 and it does the job. As a comparison, a friend bought a new Milwaukee Fuel and a spare battery for $500. He loves his new gun, but for homeowner occasional use, is it really $480 more efficient?

Ridiculous question... YES I already HAVE used them why?

I was just curious. I didn't mean it in a negative manner. I didn't know if you were a collector or something. As mentioned, they are big, bulky and somewhat underpowered compared to more modern air tools.

I wouldn't have been able to throw my money down fast enough for the torque meter, or the impact. Nice finds.

Underpowered? Really?

Free Speed forward RPM 8000 / reverse 9000

Torque Range ft. lb. 50-320
Max Torque ft. lb. 475 Forward / none listed on reverse.
Recommended Hose Size 3/8" ID min.

320LbFt is way more than I can twist with my hand. Aint that underpowered... I've got an IR I have been using for 7 years now that cost me 5 times what these did... Working Torque Range is 25-325... MAX Reverse Torque is a little more 590#.... I also have a Milwaukee Half Inch Electric... it is rated at 300 Ft Lb... I am not worried about having something on anything I work on these days that I can't knock loose...

The 3/8 IR I don't care, never had one never needed one but saw it for $20 and bought it. I have had Butterfly wrenched several times, I even had one that was LIKE a Butterfly but instead of the butterfly trigger it had a lever and a reverse switch... I BELIEVE it was a CP but I have never seen one like it.

Another thing I notice at these things is without fail someone will have a table full of HF Junk Air Tools with the labels all faded asking similar money... One guy had a pile of the Freebie Tape Measures that sell normally for $4.99 for $7 each!
Not a collector at all I USE my tools...

Don't take it personally, it's a good haul, but yeah, 320 Ft-lbs isn't that impressive. My $100 mini impact (less than 4 inches long) is more powerful. I've run into many bolts that a 500 or 600 ft-lbs impact wrench can't break free on little cars that weigh less than 2700lbs. Just remember that the torque something is tightened to isn't the same value that is required to break the fastener free. It's much higher, even before factoring in corrosion and the like. Which is why many 300 ft-lbs corded electric impacts struggle with lug nuts torqued to a 100 ft-lbs on a truck.

For $80 you can get impact with over double 320 Ft-lbs.

Buddy. Pal. We're not talking down on you. With the numbers these newer torque wrenches put out, people tend to go for more powerful units. I was just wondering what your intentions were. I mean, no offense, seriously, but why do you think they were priced so cheap? They can't compete with today's air tools. Solid, reliable and well made, but outdated. If they work for your needs and you can get use out of them, excellent. I'd much rather see them going to good use instead of going to the scrap yard or sitting in someone's garage for 20 years. In all honesty, you got a great deal. Well done.

Ahh no man, I don't want that. Get some good sleep at night and don't worry about it. :bounce:

No one is trying to insult you or be rude, just wanted to know if you actually intend to use them in light of the fact that it won't be too useful for medium or heavy duty tasks. Getting defensive about questions or other people's opinions doesn't usually work too well on the internet.

If it works for you though, that's wonderful. It'll be good to see them get some use instead of rusting into oblivion.
