Found these very old rusted cutters in another cranny in the shop. I gather these are Bull Horn Cutters or called "Dehorners". I thought it was a cool display piece and loved the way the mechanics worked on it.

Last I found these original Craftsman Electric Motors...they didn't work when I plugged them in but can be fixed if there's really anything wrong with them...might just be a wiring problem. I have several of these squirreled away for any machine restore projects where an original motor might be needed.

The only real depressing part was the other great vintage machines I had to leave behind mainly because of lack of money and mostly the needed space to store them. I'm still going to return for some "smalls' I still want. I'll post pics of this old shop later so you can see what I was dealing with.

Today I returned to the old Machine shop and took some friends with me. Here's what I brought home...the main reason for going back. A beautiful Burgmaster Turret Drill Press complete with a 3 phase converter attached to it.

Loading this beast into the truck was no simple task. Took 4 of us to load it then unload and get it into my garage next to the other machine I bought, the Delta Toolmaker

Later I will post my other finds from this trip but for now I will post pics of the shop we visited and show what sadly was left behind. I've looked thru this shop twice but still saw things I hadn't seen on my last trip...this place was overwhelming and I could spend many more hours looking but I have to be practical both in time and money-wise. Some of the main highlights we left were other very nice vintage machines.

A Van Norman #22 Milling Machine with virtually a truckload of cutting bits and tooling to go with it. A Walker-Turner (16" or 20") Bandsaw, Walker-Turner drill press, 2 Logan 10" Metal Lathes...one has a Turret tailstock. 2 other drill presses, Vintage Craftsman tool boxes and Rollaways, Vintage table saw, 2 Vintage Wood Lathes, Craftsman Radial Arm Saw, tons of tools, metal, hardware way too much to list....check out the pics:

Hate to see old great shops like that being parted out. But very happy the tools and machines are going to someone who appreciates them.

Stumbled onto this yesterday......just what I've been wanting. A Variable Speed Drill Press.....this is a model Delta 17-990x that was left out in the elements to rust. Another restore project but besides a good cleanup it only needs a few minor repairs and a couple parts that were missing. Its still runs. I'll most likely be retiring my old Craftsman Floor Drill Press once I finish restoring this one to make room for it.

Here's more pics of the rest of the finds that day. Among these items I finally found the original wrench for my Delta Toolmaker to remove and install grinding discs

This was a cool item I found buried deep inside a cabinet....a "motiondiser" made in the 20's.........cord was brittle from age but it still worked.
