I moved. New place has a crummy old chain drive opener.

I had a really nice belt drive unit installed in the old place.

Swap looks straightforward. Both use a single pair for all wiring, so I just have to find positive and negative. Easy peasy.

But the belt/chain... Are these cut to fit on install, or can I easily just swap them?

Just go out and buy a new belt drive unit..Assemble and install per instructions and you're all set!

Just make sure you get the proper rail for the height of your door..7' or 8' high. Good luck..

Well, that'd be $300 for one like the one I got. The old one works fine, just would rather have the new, nice one at the new place. :)

They are pretty self explainatory for wiring. If you can not figure it out you should be able to download the installation guide from the mfg website.

Just take one down, take it to the other house, take that one down and put the other up.

Just talk all the brackets with you and you shouldn't have a problem.

Gotcha! As long as both doors are the same height. should be no problem! If the older opener has sensors, just make sure you keep Them with the proper opener!

It should be a fairly straight swap out, you may have to shorten or lengthen the back hangs a bit. Also if you run into any problems you can always Google the installation instructions for your particular opener..
