Swapping out rotary lifts

Well I’m an idiot and swapping out a giant rotary two post for an even bigger rotary two post that’s in the colors that will match my two rotary spo12’s that will wind up next to it when shop move in is official

Luckily they are sister lifts that share same collumns, size and arms so it’s a matter of unbolting and rebolting them down

Downsides are the collumns are stupid heavy. I can move a spo12 by hand, these you can’t even adjust without swinging a sledge hammer full bore

Almost on the ceiling! Reusing my current anchors as I don’t wanna move location of lift or redo the 12” deep concrete there

So unbolted collumns and put on my thinnest forks I had and slid forks under and between anchors and listed column till it touched ceiling and wiggled it away from the hanging wiring

Repeated process to drop new collumns on existing studs was an act of god to get them to drop down but we managed. Everything else went right back the way it should be


Gotta match these two when they go next to it

That's some balls to balance it like that. Most people I know who operate forklift would have dumped them before they were 1/2" off the ground

Slinging them with how tight to ceiling was gonna be a no go, let alone trying to land it on the studs

Better option would have been welding steel on side of column and lifting up high on welded on parts

Could used telehandlers or crane, but what I did seemed like best option given situation

Sold red one to a friend with a commercial shop for what I paid for blue one
He’s salty about somewhat for price tag as he knew I had less then 1/2 that in red one originally but he gets what I was trying to do here with an even swap of funds.
I have 4 other 10-12k lifts here for the future so that should be plenty to have this as the bigger truck lift You cant rack a 1/2 ton or cars hardly
