I noticed that RTM posted a pair like them in this thread. His are not brown any more, but I think mine will stay that color for now.

I got a bunch of those pliers, and they are interesting, it seems like there were atleast two producers of them, but nobody seems to know who. There is other types of this "simpel" plier, endcutters and sidecutters.

These box-jointed pliers are a bit more refined. The one on the right was too far gone to be able to read the maker's mark. I was able to get it freed up and working again. I should have put something in the photos to show scale. They are quite small. I like that you can see the two types of steel used in the pair on the left (2nd photo).

A few odd Eskilstuna pliers. Made by Eson, T&W, Vigor and marked just Eskilstuna.

I just Googled it and side cutters are indeed pliers. Here's one more pair I neglected to post above because I wasn't sure if they qualified for this thread (or if cutters were a different category). They're also quite small, but I don't think they're quite vintage. These don't have the box-joint pivot detail, but they're nice little cutters.

These are the pliers marked A.E. Lindström on the inside of one of the grips.

Does the "A.E." place them in a particular time frame?

They're stamped E on both sides, which look like owner's marks.

Do you recognize the partial cirlce/dot stamp?

Could it be, F.E. Lindström? The companys name was that from the beginning, after the founder, F is for Frans and E is for Edward, it was the founders first and second name. The dot in a cirkle is unknown to me, maybe a ownersmark of some kind.

The older pliers are marked with F.E. Lindström Eskilstuna Sweden, then Lindström Eskilstuna Sweden and last Lindström Sweden.
There is versions of all of them.

Neat collection!
I also have a bunch of old Swedish pliers, this Berg from 1953 might be my favorite. Probably made after the Wilde patent expired.

Nice plier! I got two different sizes of them. Interesting design. They disapeared from the catalogues in the beginning of the 1960s. They were replaced by better models.

I have wanted a pair of green lindstrom pliers for over 40 years I have only seen one pair in my lifetime, but I settled collecting EABerg and Bahco pliers , , which are hard to find in Australia ( they were popular from 1940s to 70s ) here is some of my finds the pair on the left is an Australian copy of the berg / bahco , they outsold Bahco and Bahco stopped selling in Australia during the 80s

Did not know this brand until last Sunday when I picked it up for $1. And I'm glad I did. Had to clean it to see the brand name, etc. Has stood up well assuming the date stamp (1937) is meaningful. I have learned that some have a shark logo; this one does not. I also learned that FOR PIANOTRAD translates to For Piano Wire.

I have similar too! There's also text "Musical wire" stamped on the other side. I use them to cut my guitar strings. I don't know how I have managed to do that before with regular pliers that are not specially designed for musical wire...

Highly popular tool in Australia since mid 1940s until late 70s they had around 45% market share in the pliers market until Sidchrome copied them and made them in Australia, Fuller Japan do a copy of their pliers also

That’s nothing. You should see what I have to use for haywire.

I have learnt that the Sidchrome plier shown was actually made in Sweden by Bahco the rough castings were shipped to Australia and finished and chromed and had locally made handles and deemed to be 51% Australian made to satisfy the name Australian made. Bahco made a lot of stuff for Sidchrome.

Like new side cutters from EA Berg. With plastic handles, which i believe makes them even more rare. Most EA Berg pliers had the manufacturing year stamped on the inside of the handles, but this pair don't because of the plastic handles. Well it might have beneath the handles but I'm not gonna try to remove them and probably break them by doing so.

A pair of really weird ones witch i have never seen before. They are like water pump pliers, but straight and GEARED!
The movable jaw can be adjusted in three positions, so it gives you a really wide range of gripping.
The stamping on the side reads:

MADE IN SWEDEN
TO-TACT
PAT. PEND.

I have never heard of To-Tact before, and google isn't of much help here.
