I got 3 from my local HD last night and did the survey online for the "free" one just to support the company. The hoarder in me wants to go back to the store and get the rest of the ones in stock
i believe the one they send you is the g10.
Can anyone confirm that?
So basically $5 for a g10?

i saw a youtube video of some guy opening up and he said he bought the g20 and followed the instructions. It was a nice g10 in a pretty sweet box too. I paid the 3.50 for shipping and it said about 4 weeks for shipping. Ill keep you guys posted.
...if the offer has not expired? ![]()
Here is the free light, got the g20 as a stocking stuffer and ordered the freebie, its a g10and as you see inside is a coupon to order ANOTER g10...if the offer has not expired?
Great lil lights....works great.
Got 6 tonight. Don't need all of them but great gifts. $3 each
I got my three free lights I ordered tonight. A little bummed as I was expecting G10"s using a single AAA; but received G5"s. Really decent light for their size at 33 lumens however they use four AG5 watch batteries which seems like an inconvience to resupply as I rarely have those on hand. Also the run time in approx only 30 min for the G5 and a little over the 2 Hrs. for the G10 @ 18 lumens. Just curious to what other get for their free ones.

I think they got a heads up HD was gonna be selling them for cheap so they would be getting a lot of inquiries for a "free" gift.
Problem with that theory is they include the offer with every light they sold. So no matter if they sold full price or discount, every person got the offer and has the opportunity to get one.
The reason they make they buyer pay shipping for the "free" light is to actually discourage most people who are usually too lazy to even deal with it.
...SOMEBODY SELL ME ONE
Dan

i agree, what i mean though was that some received the g10 and others the g5. i think they knew a lot of requests were coming and sending a bunch of g5s would be a lot cheaper then g10s.
i should pay another 3.50 and see if they send me the g10, hmmm.
Wait till March. Wife called Coast today to ask what was up and a lady said 20,000 requsts for these free lights came in fairly recently and they ran out of the G10's. Said they would have more by March. My wife said its because of the people on Garage Journal and she laughed.

Also ended up recieving the G5. Anyone else have troubles with the on/off button not working very well? Mine acts like it is not making a good contact at times and the light flickers intermittently or won't turn on at all. I'm kind of disappointed, but for $3.50 what can one expect![]()

I'm having the same problem with mine. I don't care if it was only $3.50 or not, Coast shouldn't put their good name on a piece of ****.
