Just scored a sweet old school drill press and band saw. View media item 60847View media item 60846
Anyone know more about these? I think they are some sort of a kit or they were pieced together from other machines that broke. I am leaning towards some sort of kit - like a "Build your own drill press and band saw, all you need is spare pipe!" sort of a thing. Pretty early. Both have bakelite plugs and the band saw has a cloth wrapped cord.
They are very well built! No movement/slop in the drill press head, no binding when the saw motor turns. Serious amount of rust and dust to get cleaned off. If you can see from the pic the drill press has 4 (count them) sets of pulleys on top. I think that is to allow for numerous speeds by changing how the power is from the motor through the pulleys to the drill head.
