So, one of my projects I have to do this spring is rebuild the kids swing set. The current one is one of the wooden bolt together units. It's in pretty rough shape since it's who knows how old. It came with our house when we purchased it and the house is 20 years old.
I'm currently in the planning stages and my wife has requested that the slide and swing set be built so that an adult could use it to. So, I of course, will go a little overboard.
I'm thinking a spiral slid like in the following pictures and links.

Or, more likely, a slide like this

Any thoughts about material, material thickness, general design, or fabrication? I'm thinking aluminum or stainless. If I can stay at or below 16 gauge, I can easily buy a slip roll to do much of the metal rolling.
