OK boys and girls, what am I missing here? I can't figure out how the staple assembly goes back together. I realize the spring is a little wonky, but I think I can make it work if I know how it works.

Mechanical Aptitude? :lol_hitti

Put the slider with the hook towards the back of the unit, then the bottom floor place goes with the hook towards the front of the unit. The sping connects the two to pull the slider towards the front and keep the staples up against the hammer mechanicsm. Try it a few ways, I can take a pic of mine tomorrow if needed. Your third picture is a "correct" exploded diagram, put them back in that order and orientation.

I have the picture that way for a reason, but there is nothing for that spring to hook to on the slider. Is the spring supposed to interact with the hole in some way? If I lace the spring through the hole, it just catches on the extractor spring when I try and insert the assembly back into the stapler body. Is that the proper slide for this stapler? Is it missing anything?

Sometimes it's the little things in life, man.. :(

I was waiting for that reference, and nine4gmc, how does your spring attach to the slide? I can see the channel clearly, and I figured that out on mine, but not the slide.

Should the slide have a "tail" (perpendicular in orientation to the sides) on the back for the spring to lash on to? The more I look at the slide, the more I think a piece has been broken off (if it is a break, it's a very smooth, flush break).
