I' leaning toward a free flow tile like Race Deck or Swisstrax but I don't like the checkering pattern. The Ribtrax smooth make this less obvious. I saw a good review that Matt at Obsessed Garage did but not much else. Anyone else have thoughts on the smooth or pics of installations?

Hello poppakap,

Thanks for your post. Just to let u know the Ribtrax Smooth is a new product that has been launched recently for clients that want a smooth surface tile that is quiet to walk on and comfortable to kneel and lay on if working in the garage. Not sure if you will find many GJ users that have used the tiles yet. Same quality of the Ribtrax just flat ribs instead of rounded. You will be getting a Swisstrax quality with the same warranty and guarantee and made right here in North America. We are also offering a line of Ribtrax Smooth ECO that will save you even more money. Just ask a salesperson for samples and try them out yourself. Tell them Randy sent you and thanks to GJ!

I'm looking in putting down some tile in 2/3rds of my garage were the cars are parked and worked on. I'm interested in the smooth Ribtrax as it seems it would be more comfortable to work on.

I have some racedeck freeflow samples but I don't like how they are on the knees. I'll have to reach out and get some Ribtrax Smooth samples.

What is the difference between the normal Ribtrax Smooth, and Ribtrax Smooth Eco?

I live in Minnesota, so I will have hot humid summers with cold winters and snow. Garage faces west, so in the summer time the sun will shine directly into the garage during the afternoons with the door open. Is this a good option?

Thanks!

Swisstrax is awesome to have. I received samples from both companies and decided on Swisstrax for my home garage and home gym floor. I believe the Eco products are a slightly different material that is more recycled product. I have Ribtrax ECO in part of my flooring and I love it. I’d use a few rubbertrax tiles by your toolbox or work bench if you can.

Thanks for the feedback. Do you notice any difference between the Swisstrax sample and your eco? Why do you say use rubbertrax bear workbench?

The eco looks the same to my eye. And I recommend rubber in the area you stand often. A little more comfortable on the feet. Your floor mat is built into your floor this way.

How is the transition from ribtrax/rubbertrax to the smooth tile? I know they different thicknesses?

Also how is drainage on the smooth tiles? Living in Florida, my cars always have a pool of AC evaporator water under them which makes the current floor slippery. I would like a tile that allows that to just drain through.....

Wanted to follow up on your question as I too am considering the smooth. With the difference, I’m also concerned out well the tiles transition into the trim pieces since they’re ¾” like the standard Rib/RubberTrax.

Anyone have any insight?
