Awesome idea! I started a matching storage theme pretty much by accident. Never thought of including swith plates (until now)! Thanks!

Wow, a lot of great ideas!!!
Thanks to everyone who contributed.
I’m pretty close to a decision, I’m going with black receptacles & switches and an aluminum looking finish on the plates.
I purchased inexpensive white metal plates at Home Depot, an a can of aluminum finish rust-oleum spray paint.
Here’s a sample of how it looks.
Let me know what you think...

Looks good! I might have to do this to mine. I have different colored ones for different circuits on the workbench. So I don't overload a circuit.

My electrical is all in surface mounted conduit. I used gray colored industrial switches and outlets with galvanized steel covers.

Why not use the cheapest plastic plates. If you break one they cost nothing to replace. Personally I don't want my outlets to stand out. I would rather them blend in. I do however like the idea of marking the circuit they are on though. That is a good idea. Although all of my outlets at working level are now 20Amp so there really is no worry about over loading. it might not be a bad idea for my 230 Circuits.

I did mine in 3M dinoc film, looks like carbon fiber but is a heck of a lot cheaper.

How difficult was this to do? Working with stickers always makes me nervous about the corners etc.

I'm putting together my soon-to-be-here boy's bedroom, and I was trying to think of ideas for the wall/switch covers. Diamond plate and carbon fiber are the two natural things that I think of. Diamond plate can be bought already done; would need to wrap the carbon fiber myself (haven't looked to see if they're sold already wrapped).
