Anyone with knowledge of these? Came across them on a craigslist ad and paypal'ed the guy but he cannot find them and thinks he sold them at a flea market. :( Thought they were pretty cool and wanted to share them with you.

Set of 8 small vintage"Meteor" wrenches in thin plastic case. Marked Sylvania. 4.5x2.5x.5".

Looks like the typical cheap stamped steel stuff that was prevalent in the 50's-60's.
Wrenches rarely get much chinsier.
They might be good if you need to make a shim.....:)
Probably part of a Sylvania TV service set back then.TV repairmen actually existed at the time :)

He had already sold them. Thought they would be cool to show not to use, small and didn't take up alot of space.

Curb,
You'd be better off with a decent set of forged ignition wrenches. Craftsman sold nice quality miniature ignition wrenches in combination style in the 60's-70's. I think Armstrong was the OEM for them. Pretty easy to find to this day.
Just as cool yet they are real wrenches that you can use.

Dunno, I think they would be a cool item. I've got oddball sets of wrenches that are strange, cool looking, or unusual and guys who visit my shop always get a kick out of the strange items, regardless of cost.

As to TV repair, I grew up carrying a tube caddy, trust me, those wrenches were not for TV.:)

Remember Sylvania was a big maker of LOTS of things, not just TV's.
