Synthetic compressor oil

OK here are my garage-laboratory unofficial unlicensed while drinking beer ( lots of it) compressor oil test results. I acquired a well used abandoned 5 hp two stage 80 gal Champion off CL at a good price no motor on it.So I get it all up and running with standard non synthetic oil and have been using the heck out of it and decided to time how long it took to go from empty tank ( zero psi ) to shut off at 160 psi did this several times as well as from 90 psi start to 160 shut off no air tools being used.I then changed out the oil and switched to 2 new quarts of genuine Champ lube synthetic using same test conditions " VIOLA " it took jut under 2 minutes (112) seconds less time so the stuff does work.

Amsoil? I wouldn't use that snake oil in my neighbor's ex-wife's lawn mower! Most dealers act like they're part of some religious cult and try to go around saving souls! Mobil-1 fully synthetic is all the oil you will ever need and is readily available. I use 10w30 in everything just for convenience and have now for over 40 years, I don't know if it actually works any better than convention oils, but when it was first introduced it was marketed as a 'lifetime oil' - they dropped that claim, probably to sell more oil, but I remember them saying that once you change to Mobil-1 that will be the last oil change you will ever do... I change the oil in my vehicles about every 4 years, in the garden tractor & generator about every 8... usually when I drain the oil it is still clear enough to see though.

ive been kicking the oil thing arond for awile ive been using compresser oil want to use mobile i. i do have a slight knocking noise but my compresser runs like a singer sewing machine i run the old thing ragged. 0 to 165 8 1/2 minutes 1978 speedaire 2stage 3hp 60 gal think i should try mobile ?
