Hi, can someone recommend a good set of T-handle hex wrenches. how about the Craftsmans, any good? I]d also like to pick up a good set of hex sockets for heavier work, I've heard Snap ON is really good, any other suggestions? I know the cheaper sockets have a tendency to strip bolts, and thats the last thing I want. I appreciate any advice you can give me. John

Put it this way...if you want the Craftsmans, make me an offer..I'd gladly sell em to you so I can go get a set of Snappy's.

I think you would really like these Wiha T Handles. Lifetime warranty, really comfortable Handle, Dual Drive, etc. We don't charge any restocking fee if you decide you don't like them.

I agree. The Wihas are quite nice.

They're hard to find anymore, but US companies used to make nice ones. Blue Point, Eklind, Bondhus, Chesco...there are others. They're heavy, with plastic-dipped handles. I can get more torque on bolts with them, but the steel wears slightly quicker on these than on Wiha's.

I really like the Bondhus T handles I have, and they're quite reasonably priced on Amazon. $25-$30 a set and more sizes than the craftsman (8 pieces in the metric and torx sets, 10 in the SAE).

I have the Wiha T-Handles in standard/metric/torx and they are outstanding. Also have a set of Bondhus, they are great as well. And a really good deal.

Biggest difference is the Bondhus do not have the hex out the side of the handle to use like an "L" wrench. Both brands offer more sizes than Craftsman.

As far as hex sockets go, check out the offerings of SK and Proto. Both are very well made and not nearly as spendy as the SnapOn's.

Thanks guys for all your replies. I just placed a order with Snap On for a set of the shorty gold hex sockets. I am going to order a set of those Wiha T-handles as well. Thanks again, John
