Looking for a good t handle 1/2" nut driver. Ratchet and socket are out of the question due to working aloft. Drop a socket off a telephone pole and its gone for ever. Typically use Klein nut driver but need a longer reach than standard. The longer ones are prone to breakage. The only ones i can find locally are Craftsmans not sure of their quality.

Can you just use a sliding T handle and a long extension! Many firms make locking extensions, and some (Stahlwille for example) make a locking Sliding T!

Failing that, KoKen make a nice long T handled nut driver - think part no. is 104A, then a suffix for size, in this case 1/2!

The craftsman thandle nut drivers were discontinued at Sears a while back but are still available at Ace hardware. I have the metric and sae sets and they are great. You can get them under the Armstrong name as well. They are made by Armstrong. If you can find them get them. You won't be disappointed.

This might be dumb, but how about some sort of adhesive between the parts (ratchet, extension, socket) so they cannot separate?

I assume you only need one size socket?

The Kokens look nice, but are not reliably available. I thought the Armstong's looked like Craftsman. I guess a trip to Ace is in my near future.

Williams has a whole line of tools, including wrenches, sockets and ratchets all for use while off the ground. Everything comes with a built in ring to attach to a clip so it won't fall.
