Looking for a set of handle Torx bits, I guess torx wrenches would be a better word. Anybody have any favorites? The gearwrench ones look pretty reasonably priced, and snap on has them on sale this month it's not something I use a lot but those are something I want to work right the first time.

Craftsman V series 7 piece t handle torx set is $54.80 on Amazon, sold by Amazon, with a 30% coupon at checkout...so about $38.00.

I really like my Bondhus ones, even though the colors are stupid for metric (red) and SAE (yellow)
I have their ball-end metric and torx sets and they're some of my most-used tools. The 4mm, 5mm, and T25 have all survived shocking amounts of torque without breaking.

Bondhus also makes excellent allen keys.

I have a Wiha set. I find their classic handle shape to be the most comfortable for my hand. The plastic also tends to wear more gracefully than rubberized coatings over time (although my torx set has hardly been used).

The Bondhus people are recommending should be fine quality tips and they have the advantage/disadvantage of being heavier. Good for spinning but maybe a little harder to manipulate precisely with the weight all in the handle.

What coupon is that? That’s a great deal. They have the x-tract anti slip feature. It works really well.

I was looking at this listing. Is it the one?

Go to 'other sellers' and look for the listing for $54.80...open it, coupon for 30% off sold by and shipped by Amazon. Sorry I'm not savy with posting links.

Not coming up for me at the moment. I’ll try tomorrow. My location doesn’t participate in many offers.

How come some tools like toro and male hex get t handles but Philips and flat get regular in line handles? What does t handle do different?

T-Handle = better reach (handle sits above the obstacle, still smaller footprint than reg. screwdriver with longer shank) & potentially more torque.

Fasteners that you would use T-Handle drivers on, typically don’t come with a Phillips or slotted drive head.

Kind regards,
Olli

I got a set for 3/8" and 1/4" drive. Bit more gentle on my carpal tunnels

Bondhus is always a solid choice, but I really like the Klein T handles with the offset driver in the handle. Really great for a little extra torque when needed.

Wiha makes them too

My personal favourite are Beta, they are an L type T handle with a nice hard plastic handle.

Facom, Wiha, Bondhus all make nice ones though.
I have one very small size (maybe a 1.5 or 2mm) of the Beta hard handle.

Build quality is nice and the size is clearly moulded into the handle in case the ink wears off. I just tend to prefer non-L handles.

Hex and torx can transfer a higher torque than flathead or crosshead.

In most cases, you don't need the extra leverage of a T-handle to break flathead/crosshead fasteners loose and it could pose a risk of damage when tightening.

There are some T-handles out there for crosshead (ex: Kowa, Koken) and also some for larger flathead sizes (ex: PB Swiss) but it is less common.
