T1 Cutoff Disc with a mini-hub?

Ok, I'm new to angle grinders and cutoff wheels, and I impulse bought a disc! (THEN learned about T1 vs T27 discs).

So this "unicorn" that I purchased (top images), it's labeled as a T1, and is flat, but has a threaded "mini-hub", this seems unconventional, any advantage to this? Seems like it might provide some clearance issues when trying to use a T1 guard? ("Conventional" (my word) T1 is bottom row of images).

The hub allows the disc to be screwed directly to the grinder arbor.
The disc without the threaded hub requires a separate locking flange.
Separate locking flanges are small parts that can get lost, and which may require an extra tool unlock, although the disc with the hub may require a wrench as well.
I presume the threaded hub was invented because some discs needed a threaded hub for convenient use, and then became a standard because it helped with preventing work downtime because an idiot misplaced the locking flange.

typically considered a upgrade to have the built in threaded hub vs having a loose nut

flat vs 27 cupped, all personal pref or situational

Thanks for weighing in, makes me feel better for purchasing both styles, I'll most likely give the threaded hub a go first!

(and now that I think about it, packaging multiple discs is not gonna be a walk in the park if there's a hub in the way!)
