T35 Torx

I need to pickup a Torx bit set. I'm a Craftsman guy (no comments please) from a long time a go, so looking at their bit set (1/4" and 3/8" drive), it comes with T15, T20, T25, T30, T40, T45 & T50.

Noticeably missing is T35 ! Should I be concerned ?

Sounds like the same set I have. I needed one for a job so I just went and bought the individual T35. Apparently it's not part of the set.

T27 is what stihl uses on there equipment. It took me a while to find them. When I did I bought 10 or so.

27 is common on VW and Polaris Vehicles(body panels). I have never seen a T35, is there such a thing, Snap on doesn't make one. What are you working on that has one.

yeah, set from Cornwell CBSMTX34S torx set (re-badged) is pretty good for $100.

Are you a mechanic or just working on your car/s?

Unless you have a vehicle that need t35 or t47, move on. Not sure why you need to concerned about.

If you have Import cars, very rarely need torx bits/sockets.

I think Autozone has the T35, T47 and T70. Also, the 1/4" bit sets/security bit sets usually have a T35.

I don't normally have a rant, but I feel in the mood tonight.

I just get annoyed with manufacturers some times... Is there really any need what so ever
to have a T27 or a T37 or T47.... it's just bonkers. Surely a T45 or T50 would be just fine
instead of a T47, the same goes for the other two. Why do companies, and when I say
companies I mean the ***** brained minions that work for these companies, come up with
these stupid and pointless ideas for fastener types and sizes.... It just does my nut in.

Allen Internal Hex
Ribe

I'm sure there are a few more to list, but all of these internal drive fasteners have lots
of different sizes and they all do THE SAME BOLLOCKSING JOB.... ... ********.!

i have a t35 i bought from northern in the loose socket section; i bought it for the hell of it
i used it on some construction lags from lowes; worked well
t27 is out there too; ive used mine somewhere

i have T27 and T27 torx plus as well as T47 an T47 GM style. now i need to find T47 torx plus to finish my collection))))

Well, the only sets I own with a 35 are tamper proof. So, good luck on that adventure!

T47 is a GM thing. My advice would be to buy the HF set for $10, buy a loose T47, and still be WAY below the $35 tag on the Craftsman set that is smaller.

I use t-50 and a t-55 a lot taking apart interiors. They are pretty common as seat belt bolts. Newer Chrysler products use a ton of t-20 on the dash panels. Aside from those I dont use any other sizes that much and cant say I have EVER seen a t-35

i googled the bolt chart for torx(like a 10 mm head is normally a 6mm bolt) and it said there was no standard for the t35

Most mass air flow meters use tamperproof male torx and a lot of egr systems and studs on imports use the female torx I started with a nice 62 piece set from cornwell it has most of what u will use except for specialty sizes for seat belts but also be aware a lot of the new manufacturers are changing to torx plus fastners and some 5-point torx aswell

The tailgate, drop-in bedliner and bed cargo hooks on my 2012 F-150 all look like they use Torx-head bolts. From my stock of tools I was readily able to find Torx drivers for all except the bolts that hold the molded sheet of black plastic "bedliner" onto the inside of the tailgate. These appeared to be a size between T30 and T40 so I assumed that they were a size T35 and went looking for one.

I couldn't find a source at local stores or online, but I did find a number of posts of forums across the internet where people were looking for this elusive size.

The Wikipedia entry for "Torx" gave me a clue to the solution: There is a "Torx Plus" variation on the Torx standard. Searching the internet for "Torx Plus" I found some driver sets on amazon.com and bought the "CTA Tools 9605 11-Piece Torx Plus Socket

I was thinking the same. I have a super extensive torx driver set and socket set. And I have not run into any t35 keys, drivers or sockets. And if the germans screw driver maker don't make that size, I don't think it exist.

Agreed, same thing on my Tundra for work. I was switching from one tundra to another and noticed that one was missing a tie down hook in the bed. So i went to take it from the other truck. T-30 was too small and T-40 was too big. Cut it off and used some M8 bolts.
