I'm trying to figure out what an electronic t8 48" 2 tube ballest draws by itself , in addition to what the tubes themselves draw. Any ideas as to where to look for the specs or does anyone know - just need a planning number.

Thank You!

A 2 lamp ballast, is about .50 amperes @ 120 volts, 4 lamp, 1 ampere, @ 120 volts, the data can be found on the label of any ballast, which can vary depending the ballast.

As an example comparing two Universal brand ballast, a 2 lamp F96T8 (8ft) ballast that draws 0.95 amps and a 4 lamp F32T8 (4ft) that draws 1.00 amps. The F96T8 lamp is 59 watts vs. the F32T8 lamp is 32 watts. So 118 watts with 0.95 amps and 128 watts with 1.00 amps. Too close to make a difference.

Does a 2 lamp 8 ft fixture use the same power as a 4 lamp 4 ft fixture?
