my garage is a 24x24 with 8 foot walls. how would you go about spacing the 4 ft 2 bulb t8 fixtures? how many would u use? the garage doors will be 9x7 and will have automatic openers, im wondering how i would put the lights in the area toward the front where the doors will be? i dont know if i would have enough room for the fixtures because of the tracks and auto openers

My garage is 21x21 with 8'9" ceilings and it's a 2-car with 2 separate doors and openers. I'm planning one T8 between the openers, one on each side and two perpendicular at the back - total of five lights. The two perpendicular ones would provide light near the hood of a car that's pulled in to the garage. A pull-down tube would be handy for working under the hood. Currently, there are two 4ft 2-bulb 12s and a CFL and it's actually pretty bright. The walls are finished and painted white.

It would be useful, I think, if two additional perpendicular lights at the front are on a separate switch. That way they wouldn't have to be on if the garage doors are open and blocking them.
