I want to retrofit my 8' T12HO strip lights to use 4' T8s and electronic ballasts. Problem is 2x8' T12HO is the same light output as SIX T8s. To get the same light output I need to replace two rows of tubes with three.
When I remove the giant T12 tubes, there is enough room to mount 3 T8 tubes in the same fixture. Problem is they'd only be about 3/16" apart. Would that be an issue for heat or light output? I'll probably have it on two switches so the center tube isn't always lit.
