Table saw arbor repair

My little Craftsman table saw has been making a clicking noise recently. Turns out it's the pulley rocking back and forth on the arbor shaft. Obviously this was a problem sometime in the past...

I'm sure a better repair would be to braze the shaft. I think that would require disassembly since the bearing is right next to the problem area. So I'm going with the easy option, J-B weld it as it sits. Once it's dry I'll spend a little time with a file and get it round. Hopefully it goes well. If anybody has better ideas I'm all ears.

Judging by your picture you are all nose and eyebrow.

How do you plan on cleaning up the shaft?

I was just going to do my best with a file. I will probably assemble the new pulley with some more JB weld to fill in any irregularities.

Trying to keep it cheap and simple since this is a $50 saw on a good day.

JB weld will be fine for how you are using it

Ha, makes sense now. Wasn't even thinking about the profile picture

Glad to see I've got the Garage Journal seal of approval. I was honestly expecting someone to tell me I should have it welded up and turned down on a lathe.

Well you could go down the rabbit hole of building a large shop with 4-wire feed, then build benches and cabinets so you can buy a welder and a lathe to then fix it properly . At times I feel like I’m stuck in that rabbit hole.
