I'm looking for a new woodworking table saw. Does anyone know anything about this saw? SCHEPPACH M90124 It looks good on paper but I can't find out much about it. I want a good saw but I am limited to 110v because I don't have 220 wired on that side of the garage. All of the good saws are at least 3 hp and 220v. I am looking at the so called hybrids that feature decent saws with 1 3/4 hp motors, so they can run on 110.

Yes it's a German company but this saw is not on their web site. I don't know if this is made by them or if it's another far eastern product with their name on it.

I don't know what you will be cutting, but I wouldn't get too excited about not having more horsepower. Sharp blades and good alignment will allow a small motor do the job.

I'm not familiar with this saw but have seen the brand discussed on woodworking forums. Might be worth searching Sawmill Creek and others to see if anyone owns one.

If it's made in Germany I'd recommend making sure it has an arbor long enough for a dado stack. Table saws sold in Europe aren't allowed to be sold with arbors long enough for dado stacks. If you cut dados another way or simply don't use dados then this might not be an issue.

Otherwise, I had the first generation Craftsman 22124 hybrid made by Orion. It was a solid saw but a friend of mine offered me money for it so I'm now restoring an old Unisaw. It only felt underpowered to me a couple of times, like when doing a non-through cut on a 5x5 reclaimed Douglas Fir beam.

Almost all GJ commentors so far, and OP have no GJ Profile to even show what Country this is from ??

Now would be good time to Update GJ Profile and add Country and State.

This will give best chance for GJ replies to handle country specific tools.

If you want to buy a saw from a company you aren't sure if you'll get chinese or US made, get a Jet.

Far as the HP of the saw, no its not a major issue unless you're working with lots of hardwoods or high production volume. Then it pretty much is the main thing besides the capacity (in terms of the purchase factors). Once you get the saw set up, aligned, get a good fence & blade, then the hp won't matter much day to day.
