Just got a DeWalt DWE7480 Table Saw. Want to build a mobile stand that is also an outfeed table.

Thinking 36" wide with the saw table in the middle to give me 6" more table width on each side of the table saw table.

Thinking 60" deep total which includes 22.5" of table saw table, giving me about 40" for my outfeed table.

I have to balance the size of the table (currently going to be 36" x 60") for storage versus usage. Figure I can make a hinged section on the back to increase outfeed distance.

Any thoughts from you all if I should center the blade in the 36" width or skew it to one side or the other?

Will use the underside of the table to store jigs, will be too dusty for tool storage. Want to keep it light so no drawers or other enclosures.

Any suggestions you can give me will be appreciated!

Thanks,
Tim.

I can't help you by having already built one. But the tables on most cabinet saws (thinking PM 66 or Unisaw) are heavily biased to the right with a lot more rip-fence travel on that side.

I think you are correct in that you have to either build it stationary and then fill up the underspace with storage, or make it a hinged setup that swings up quickly.

I don't work with a lot of sheet goods but I usually cut oversize with my circular saw outside on sawhorses and then take indoors and use the tablesaw for more precise work.

These days a track saw would blur the lines even closer for sheet goods but it can't replace the tablesaw for dados and ripping thin strips.
