Newb here. Got a used Craftsman 113.298032 table saw. It had been in storage for about 15 years and was in nice shape. Cleaned up the table, installed new blade, lined everything up and started using it. Worked great for a few hours and then it refused to come up to speed and popped breaker. Motor just hums but won’t spin. All my other tools work fine. Any ideas are welcomed. Thanks for any help. Motor is 1 hp 14 amp single phase craftsman brand.

Hopefully it's just the capacitor that took a dump. You can easily get one from graingers as long as you can read the values for around $15.

Motor is shorting out causing the humming and drawing more than 15 amps to pop the breaker.

You might try plugging it into a 20 amp breaker to see if it'll start. My bet is no.

A 15 amp breaker will pop at 80% of rated load once it's warmed up. Meaning after continual use it will pop under the 15amp rating due to it being a thermal breaker. A 20 amp breaker will pop with about 16.5-16.9 continuous amps after it heated up. 15amp should be more than enough to start it though.

Check to see if it has a capacitor on the motor. It may be old enough that it doesn't have one. I'd start there. Edit. Now I see the pic. You'll need a Meter uf on it to check the capacitor

i can almost guarantee that the starter contacts are bad. If you can gte that end of the motor off, blow it out (sawdust collects there) you may be able to file the contacts.
