I've used three that i liked. Grizzly, Powermatic, and Unisaw. Of the three, the Unisaw was nicest, followed by Powermatic and then Grizzly. I've never used a Jet so I can't comment on that. Those are the four I would consider. If you find a Powermatic, be sure to check alignment of the riser gear. They built a lot of them with fixed castings that were made in such a way that they were misaligned and not repairable. Used saws are everywhere, especially if you are willing to consider three phase. One horse will work but I would look for at least two and prefer three hp actual power. Check the power by multiplying volts times amps. Not advertised. One hp is 746 watts plus 20% or so for efficiency derating.
