Table too long? lets just shorten it then

Friends moved several years ago from a large house to a smallish high rise Condo . their outdoor table came with them but it was a tad too large for the balcony and you could only sit at one side because there was no room to get around it .
Me being me, I suggested I cut it down for them to a more usable size , so we went from 36x72 to 36x36 . here are a few pictures starting with the table as built, on to cut down to size, prepping to weld it back together , welded back up ( I'm not a welder & very thin metal so don't criticize too hard ) bondo'd & prepped for paint , then painted. for some reason the table in location screws up so I will post that on a second post

Thanks. ^^^ nothing worse in my opinion than making an alteration that shows it was altered . if you're going to do it, do it right.
with the left over pc I may make a smaller table that they can put their grill on , but that's to be decided .

and, as an FYI, this is a Brian Gluckstein table , which is supposed to be high end? the center dimension was 3/8" narower than the ends , and the entire top is crooked on the rectangular tube base frame

Update
With the cut offs from the table I did make a stand for their barbecue . I thought I posted it here but I guess not. That was last spring right after the above project
anyway, with the one remaining pc. I am making a table that will hang about a foot below the parapet wall for some of their plants
here is the progress I made today so far . purposely left the umbrella hole in the table to make a post that will hold some more plants . I haven't figured that part out yet

update on the plant stand from MAr 31
repurposed some outdoor stair railings for the half oval shaped steel to make the wall hooks to hang the stand.
I need to add a brace between the table top and the back of the bracket . I've given them some options; 1/2" round bar, 1/2" square bar, 1/2" twisted square bar , 3/16x1 flat bar on edge , scrolls removed from railing assy. waiting to hear back what they would prefer . I'm guessing they will choose the sguare bar option since they're seem to prefer square plain type industrial looking

well, I was close. they want flat bar . flat or on edge, my choice. on the flat will be easier so i'll probably go that route

worked on this a bit today. I've decided that ( I think) the brackets are robust enough to not require any bracing for some flower pots .
Touching base with buddy on Tuesday and will see what he thinks . I suspect he will like the no brace option best.
then see whether he wants a pole thru the center to hold another few pots

Here's the finale of the project, a plant hanger pole that uses the original table umbrella hole.
This project spanned over a year , nice that it's done.
They love plants and as you can see, they have a ton of stuff on their balcony
