Tablesaw Outfeed

Since we are on the subject of woodworking and table saws and the like, I thought I would seek the advice of any one who may have tackled this problem.

I would like to fabricate some sort of collapsible out-feed table for my saw. It must be able to swing down out of the way so I can push the saw against the wall when not in use.

The saw has a standard 54" Beismeyer type fence (made by General Manufacturing) and the table top is a plastic laminate covered particle core measuring 72" x 29".

Has anyone done this and perhaps have photos. The table I previously used was just taking up to much space.

I think I saw a diy outfeed table in Wood magazine, they bolted a hinge to the tablesaw and made an outfeed table out a countertop and used the collapseable shelf brackets to support it while in use. Can't find the issue # right now. Check wood, finewoodworking, and shop notes websites. All have alot of information on jigs and shop setups for smaller shops.

Not sure if this will help or not, but this is the folding outfeed on my Craftsman Cab Saw -- the only thing that may be of any difficulty is the support piece, otherwise the top is just hinged. I am sure mine is way out of alignment right now, FYI.
