Does it pickup spark pulses ?
I only have them running on electric motors.
No, it works off of hall effect

I have a cheap digital one with a wire that you wrap around the plug wire. It was ~$10 on Ebay, or maybe Amazon, 5+ years ago and shipped from China. It doesn't shut off, which is annoying, but it somehow still works. I only use it once every few years, so I don't mind having to deal with wrapping the wire. The one above looks good and since it ships from the US, seems like a deal.
