tailing panel bonding

When I wired a couple outbuilding from the main service entrance I ran 4 conductors in pvc. The 4th conductor was to bond the tubs with a floating neutral bar unlike the main service entrance panel which has the neutral bar bonded to the tub. At the time that was NEC code practice. Has that part of the code changed?

Neutral is still to be isolated in panels after the first main disconnect.

Prior to 2008, code allowed bonded neutral and 3-wire feed to a detached structure, as long as there was no parallel metallic pathways

in 2008, the code changed and thus no longer allowed that and it hasn't changed back since then.

if you want to bring it up to current code, which would be a good idea, you just need to unbond it. should be as simple as moving your grounds over to a separate bar and removing the bonding screw from the existing neutral bar. Pics would help confirm that.

wyliesdiesels - based on my original post, to bring my 1990's installation up to date, all I need is add code approved ground rod and associated conductor to bonding bar in the tail panel, correct?
I retired as an industrial electrician in 2007 and haven't looked at a code book since, by the way very nice visual on post #3?

as long as the neutral bar is isolated, then yes you just need 2 ground rods.
